For the 2x2 T-Dapter: The best lumber to get is Untreated 2x2s commonly found at most hardware stores. The 2x2 T-Dapter is designed to best fit lumber cut to 1.5"x1.5" which is the actual dimensions of "2x2s"

For the 2x4 T-Dapter: The best lumber to get is 2x4 construction lumber commonly found at most hardware stores. The 2x4 T-Dapter is designed to fit lumber cut to 1.5"x3.5" which is the actual dimensions of "2x4s"

The only tools you will need when using the T-Dapter are tools that would be commonly brought to the range regardless. The tools needed include...

1. A Hammer to drive your T-Post into the ground

2. A stapler to attach your desired targets to your lumber

They are intended more for setup-and-takedown use. Long-term exposure to sunlight, heat, cold, moisture, and outdoor elements can weaken plastic over time. I recommend storing them in a range bag, toolbox, or indoors when not in use.
